"Hey! Eyes on me!"
When I went looking for a new PS3 game a month ago, I read a lot about how FFX was such an amazingly perfect game, and how FFX-2 was so hilariously bad. But that was before I actually played it myself…
And now, here we are a month later, and I'm still barely halfway through FFX and I'm in no rush to finish, mainly because of how dull it is, how irritating the battle system is, how annoying it is to barely walk 5 steps before a random fiend spontaneously appears out of nowhere, how slowly you level up, how you can't skip cutscenes, how long it FEELS, how I'm forced against my will to play underwater soccer, and probably much more as I force myself to finish the game…
And yet, as I skipped my way into FFX-2 expecting to hate it, to my surprise, not only is the gameplay and battle system much easier and less annoying (the spontaneously appearing fiends are sadly still here), the game actually feels fun, the story is more interesting, as are the characters, and let me tell you how much of a breath of fresh air it is to be able to play as a female character throughout an entire game - and likable ones at that! Forget how skimpy their clothes are, I don't care. I actually want to play this, to finish this!
Oh, the sweet, sweet irony, and such a perfect example of how radically diverse opinions can be.

I agree with you on FFX being bad but it's not the battle system or the soccer match (which is needed for one of the characters overdrive) it's the story itself...it may start off slow but it's incredible...FFX-2 yeah I agree with you whole heartedly...people say it's bad mostly cause of the gameplay but that style of game play is what keeps me coming back for more on any Final Fantasy game...maybe it's just a preference? Who knows...anyways I really enjoyed the series and to date it's my favorite series ever in the history of Final Fantasy the FFXIII series being a VERY close second and the newest World of final fantasy tying with that...
